HIPAA Compliance Statement

Effective Date: 21 Mar 2025

At JPM Collections, LLC, we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our users’ personal health information. As part of our dedication to compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), we have implemented measures to ensure that any Protected Health Information (PHI) we handle is collected, stored, transmitted, and processed in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

This HIPAA Compliance Statement outlines the steps we take to safeguard your PHI and explains your rights in relation to your health data. By using our website, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined in this statement.

1. Protected Health Information (PHI) Collection

We collect and process certain personal health information (PHI) that may include, but is not limited to:

  • Health status or medical conditions

  • Health treatment and services

  • Medical history

  • Medication details

We only collect PHI when it is necessary for our research or studies and when you voluntarily provide the information to us through our forms or services.

2. Use and Disclosure of PHI

We use PHI exclusively for research purposes to match participants with appropriate studies. We do not disclose your PHI to third parties except when required by law or as necessary to complete research-related activities. We do not sell or share your PHI with unauthorized parties.

3. Data Security

We take reasonable administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect your PHI from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. This includes encryption of data during transmission, secure storage, and access control to limit who can access your PHI.

We continually review our policies and procedures to ensure compliance with HIPAA security and privacy requirements. However, while we take these precautions, no data transmission or storage system can be 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information you submit.

4. Participant Rights

Under HIPAA, you have the right to:

  • Access: You can request access to your PHI we have collected.

  • Amendment: You can request amendments to your PHI if it is inaccurate or incomplete.

  • Revocation: You may opt out of participation in any research studies at any time, and your PHI will be removed from our systems upon your request.

  • Confidentiality: You can request that we limit the way we use or disclose your PHI.

For any requests related to your rights under HIPAA, please contact us using the information provided below.

5. Business Associate Agreements (BAA)

In compliance with HIPAA regulations, we may work with third-party vendors or service providers who assist us in handling PHI. We ensure these vendors are HIPAA-compliant by entering into Business Associate Agreements (BAA), which ensure that these third parties handle your PHI securely and only as permitted by law.

6. No Collection of Sensitive Information

To further protect your privacy, we do not collect sensitive personally identifiable information (PII) such as your full name, social security number, or date of birth, except when absolutely necessary for research purposes. This is done to minimize the amount of PHI we retain and protect your identity.

7. Limitation of Liability

While we take all reasonable precautions to protect your PHI, JPM Collections, LLC is not liable for any data breaches, unauthorized access, or any harm that may arise in relation to PHI collected by third-party research studies or service providers. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external parties you may engage with for further information about how they handle your data.

8. HIPAA Compliance and Updates

We are committed to maintaining HIPAA compliance and regularly review and update our policies to ensure we are meeting all regulatory requirements. Any updates or changes to this HIPAA Compliance Statement will be posted on this page with the effective date noted.
